The PERETZ FOUNDATION is proud to celebrate the enduring legacy of jazz drummer Troy Davis, a true cultural icon whose rhythms have shaped generations. On Thursday, May 1, 2025, we will present Troy Davis with the prestigious Alvin Batiste Award—a tribute to his lifelong contributions to jazz music and his impact on Louisiana’s rich musical heritage.

This unforgettable evening will take place at 7:30 PM during the River City Jazz Masters concert at the Manship Theatre in downtown Baton Rouge, featuring a live performance by the incomparable Sammy Figueroa.
